Velayudham, வேலாயுதம் - Kollywood Movie - Vijay Hansika Genelia

Velayudham, வேலாயுதம், is a 2011 Tamil action-masala film directed by M. Raja. It stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza. The film was formally launched on July 15, 2010 with its photo shoots taken earlier during the month. Produced by V. Ravichandran's Aascar Films, the film released on October 26, 2011. The story revolves around an ordinary milkman, trying to eradicate corruption. The film released to mixed reviews and was declared a commercial success.

Velu (Vijay) is a Village guy who stays with his widowed mother, a beautiful sister Kaveri(Saranya Mohan) and a cute Murai Ponnu Vaidhiyalakshmi(Hansikha). Due to his Sister marriage, Vijay will come to chennai to receive the amount he saved in a chit fund company. There he will meet Genelia who is a Journalist.

Genelia was earlier harassed by the misdeeds of Villain Abhimanyu Singh. He is the most influential person in the city who is an underworld mafia don. One fine day Genelia will see the accident where bunch of goons will die. She will use this incident and she creates a fictional char 'Velayutham'. When Vijay visits chennai there will be few bomb blasting incidents and he avoids all the bomb blasts without his knowledge. So people start to think that he is Velayutham.

Genelia will meet vijay & tells him about the ficitional character & Villain. Earlier, Vijay will refuse to continue the fictional charcater but later he comes to know that he is cheated by the chit fund company which runs by the villain & few common people committs suicide due to this forgery, so now our hero will wear the mask of Velayutham to stop the corruption in the city. And rest of the film speaks about how Vijay takes over villain and his gang.

The latest Aiswarya's Bollywood - Kollywood sci fi film comes with all the hype we’ve come to expect 120 crore budget…biggest budget ever! (that’s about US$24 million), overseas special effects people! They are expecting a world record is broken (this time for 50 assistant directors)!

Shooting has even started already, with a musical number set in Peru going before the cameras first., an inert wannabe-sci-fi mess that just kind of lay there and gasped for air.

EDHIRAN is officially a Tamil film, but it seems like it’ll be released both in Tamil and in Hindi, it’s got some Bollywood money behind it, and the Bollywood press is covering it, which is why we’re calling it a Bollywood film. But, for the record, it’s officially from Kollywood.)

This time we’re promised sheer, off-the-wall, wigged-out freakiness. Why? Because the director is S. Shankar, the man responsible for the Bollywood remake of the Tamil film NAYAK. This is the story of a reporter (Anil Kapoor of SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) who becomes Prime Minister of India for a day and fixes the country’s social problems by punching people in the face. It also features (the fun starts around 1:30). S. Shankar’s second-to-the-last movie was , a Tamil film about a lawyer with who seeks justice by causing evildoers to be trampeled to death in a buffalo stampede, fried in pots of oil and sucked dry by leeches. It was a musical. His latest movie is the Superstar Rajnikanth mega-hit in which Tamil superstar Rajnikanth battles the corrupt government with his fists.

HK action legend Yuen Wo-ping

will be coordinating the stunts and action in the film. Ching Siu-tung was lured to Bollywood for KRRISH, the Hrithik-is-a-superhero flick, and now it’s Yuen’s turn. Expect insanity.

Already photos have been leaked from the Peruvian musical number that started shooting in early September, but the assistant director responsible (a woman, as the press eagerly pointed out) has been identified and terminated. One Assistant Director down, 49 to go. ENDHIRAN is set for an April, 2010 release, which gives them plenty of time to fire them all.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been acting simultanaeously in Shankar's 'Endhiran' and Mani Rathnam’s bilingual, 'Ravana'/ 'Ashokavanam' ( Title not yet finalized). The first schedule of 'Ravana' is expected to be completed on December 17 and Aishwarya will return to 'Endhiran' on December 18, it is learnt. Earlier, Shankar had given her permission to participate in Mani's movie while he was busy filming other scenes that did not involve her.

Kamal Haasan's movie'Dasavatharam', the most expected movie of the year 2008, features Kamal Haasan and Asin in the lead roles released yesterday all over the country. It looks like he is trying to break the record of Sivaji Ganesan's nine roles in 'Navaratri'. Kamal's ten roles are countered by Asin's dual role in the movie. This is the first time in her career Asin is playing dual role. Mallika Sherawat dons an altogether different cap in this movie. She appears as a CIA agent while Jayapradha, the well-known character artiste, plays another important role in the movie.

K S Ravikumar is directing this mega budget movie for Oscar Ravichandran. Himesh Reshammiya from Bollywood is scoring the music. The movie is being shot in different locations in India , Malaysia and the US.
