Casting of Mumai Police

The Super Star Prithviraj was initially casted to play the leading role as Antony Moses. Arya was casted for the role of ACP Aaryan John. This casting information remained for a while, until media announced the rumours of Mammootty replacing the actor Prithviraj. It was told the reason was; Prithviraj who was considered as the first option for Roshan Andrew's film 'Mumbai Police' which was scheduled to start after the completion of Roshan-Mohanlal starrer 'Cassanova' which got delayed because Mohanlal had given dates for his friend Priyadarshan to film his hindi flick 'Tezz' and also the Malayalam movie 'Arabiyum Ottakavum P Madhavan Nairum'. This delay made Prithviraj's date clash with revised schedule of the film. The lead role has now being reportedly offered to Mammootty after Prithvi backed out. The director Roshan Andrews had revealed that his new Malayalam movie 'Mumbai Police' will have Prithviraj in the lead as announced earlier.

It was reported that something went wrong in between both the director and the actor, and as a result Prithviraj was dropped out from this project and rumours start to spread that either Mammootty or Tamil actor Suriya may play the lead role in it. Initially Nikesha Patel and Roma Asrani were in the lead roles but now its seems that there might be a complete reshuffle as the team is planning to take fresh faces in the film. It was not revealed why Arya had opt out of the role but assumed to be busy schedule with tamil films and the role was given to actor Jayasurya. There was also rumours as Jayasurya being part of the movie along with Mammootty replacing Prithviraj, this was incidently false but as the crew realizing how media preferred Jayasurya to do the role along with the superstar Mammootty, Prithviraj hadn't opt out of the film as told by the media and crew decided to cast popular and versatile actor Jayasurya. Later it was revealed that also with initial production group leaving, Arya opted out due to the dislike of the story and climax.
